this neighborhood

Located west of I-75 and east of Mt. Airy Forest, this residential neighborhood has good value in quality homes and a friendly atmosphere, which attract young middle-income families to this growing neighborhood.

Nearby Chase Avenue has St. Boniface Church, McKie Recreation Center, and a new children's playground at the corner of Chase and Fergus Street, a project the community council raised $80,000 to build.

Originally part of Cumminsville, Northside began to separate itself at the end of the 19th century when streetcars began to operate along Hamilton Avenue, the neighborhood's main artery. Finally I-74 further divided the two communities.

The neighborhood has a total population of 10,500 living in 1.8 square miles. Every age group is represented equally in Northside, from school-aged children, to Gen Xers, Baby Boomers and seniors.
